A number of airlines fly into Sicily and these have included budget airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair. With airlines taxes these days and with all of the add-ons, even the budget flights can sometimes seem similar to the standard fares. The national airline for Italy offer frequent flights into Sicily to both Catania and Palermo. Flights are not usually that cheap but they fly often. The great thing about flying with Alitalia is that they have a dozen or so flights a day into Catania and other Sicilian airports such as Palermo. If you were unfortunate to miss a flight then Alitalia offer you the best opportunity of getting onto another flight without any trouble (unless you are flying on the last flight in the evening). Easyjet are one of the newest airlines to delve into the Sicilian market and their flights between Gatwick (London) and Luton airport to Catania are a great option for those of you happy to fly from London. As previously mentioned, the beauty of the Easyjet flights are that they are direct flights and thus within 2 hours 30 min’s of leaving London, you are landing in Sicily!
