Taormina really is a stunning place as it is even more popular in the summer time during the Taormina film festival, when the some famous celebrities head to the town. The views are also excellent in Taormina, with the Etna volcano visible from a distance. The nearest airport is Catania airport and this is about one hours drive away and relatively easy to get to. Property and Real Estate in Taormina
In terms of property prices, this is one of the more expensive ares of Sicily, such is the beauty of this place, with its beach, Greek theatre and small boutique style shops and side streets. If looking for a second home, then a one bedroom or two bedroom apartment on the edge of the village could be a 
good rental idea. You can sometimes get 1 or 2 apartments for EUR 200,000 to EUR 500,000 if you get lucky.
If you want a villa or 3 or 4 bedroom property then you might well be looking at the higher end rates and several homes here can costs a several hundred thousand Euros. Depending on the exact property, you could easily be looking at a price in the million Euros region. Other areas of Sicily such as Catania and Palermo can be much cheaper than Taormina.
