Bordonaro Epiphany, Sicily, Italy
Bordonaro Epiphany (January)
Grab some cake and eat it in Bordonaro during Epiphany. In the main public square locals erect a Pagghiaru, a very special Epiphany tree covered with fruit and bread, with a two-metre-high cross on top, all up for grabs after Mass!
The fantastic food bonanza is followed by a theatrical performance of Cavaddazzu e l'omu sabbagghiu, which translates from the Sicilian dialect as "man and ferocious nature". The events take place in the evening, but check with the local tourist office for the exact times.
Event Details: January (Every year).
Cost: Free.
Location: County Messina, Town Bordonaro.
