Driving in Sicily
If you have experience of driving in Italy then renting a car to tour the island of Sicily can be a very good option. Car rental will give you a lot more freedom and be much easier than trying to use public transportation to see the various places on this very large island. If you have never driven in Italy though, be warned that it can get a little hairy with the way of driving very different from a country such as UK or U.S. for example. There sometimes seem 
to be few rules when driving in Sicily, but once you get used to their way of driving then you should be fine. Just try and allow a day or so to get used to the Italian driving style
Where to rent a car
There are numerous locations to rent a car in Sicily and the best option depends on your point of access and when and for what you need the car. Chances are though you might want to rent a car on arrival and both Catania airport and Palermo airport. There are a number of car rental agencies at the airports and these include:

Generally, the companies will require you to have a credit card when renting a car.
